What can I buy/sell on JapClassifieds?
We're huge fans of cars from Japan, which is why we've decided to limit our website to only featuring such cars for sale. JapClassifieds is the UK's #1 resource for exclusively buying and selling Japanese cars.
You can buy or sell anything from the likes of the humble Nissan Micra, up to and including the beastly Lexus LFA - or even grey imports. It doesn't matter, just as long as the manufacturer of the car is a Japanese company. (Not sure if you car is Japanese? Check out our list of Japanese car makes at the bottom of every page and see if your vehicle manufacturer is listed!)
We're always keeping our database up-to-date with the latest Japanese car models, but if you think we may be missing something, please do let us know.
How much does it cost?

We're proud to offer you some of the best advertising rates available on the web because we understand how much of a nightmare selling your car can be at times - and we want the process to be as simple, cheap and painless as possible.
Basic membership, the opportunity to create your own user account and place an unlimited number of adverts is completely free. You can also optionally become a Full Member at a flat rate of £9.99 for lifetime membership. Once you become a full member you're entitled to all of our membership perks, such as Free Featured Ad Upgrades, access to our affiliate network, Watch Lists and more. Standard adverts are free for all members (Basic and Full accounts), and it's only £3.99 for a Featured advert (free for Full Members). There are no hidden fees or costs at all - just the chance to advertise your car to a dedicated audience for at least 14 days!
Many other automotive classifieds websites charge upwards of £10 or even £20 per advert. We let you advertise for free. You can't say fairer than that!
Oh, and you can advertise as many vehicles as you wish during your membership - yes, all FREE!
How do I place an advert?
Firstly, make sure you're well prepared to sell your car. Have you got all the important information about it, and gathered any photographs you want to use?
If so, create and login to your account, head to our Sell page and complete all 4 steps as required. We've designed the process to be as simple and intuitive as possible, but should you need any assistance, just get in touch and we'll be happy to give you a hand.
What are the differences between Standard and Featured adverts?
Our website features two levels of advertising: Standard and Featured.
A Standard advert is 100% FREE for all members and you get a total of 14 days of exposure on the website. This includes up to 3 HD photographs and unlimited text on your advert. Everything you need to effectively sell your car!
A Featured advert costs £3.99 for Basic Members, but is free for Full Members. It allows your advert to take centre-stage on the Home page of our website for all to see. All Featured adverts also appear on the website for an extended period of 30 days, appear as highlighted results when shown in lists and are shared to our favourite social networks!

What payment types are accepted?
Our payment system is operated by industry-leading payment providers PayPal and Stripe. This means we cater for all debit and credit card types available in the UK. You do not need accounts with PayPal or Stripe to make a payment.
When will my advert appear?
Before an advert can appear on the website it must be moderated by a member of staff. This is for our internal processes only and should not affect your advert in any way. We just need to make sure all submitted text and images are suitable for a typical audience, so please keep your adverts clean and friendly!
Most adverts will be moderated and published on the website on the same day of being submitted, but in some cases moderation may take a little longer (during weekends or outside of office hours, for example). Keep an eye on your Dashboard to track the progress of your ad(s).
Please contact us if your advert has not been published on the website within 24 hours and we'll see what's going on.
How long does my advert last?
If you've submitted a Standard advert, your listing will be live on the website for a period of 14 days from the date of publishing. As soon as 14 days have elapsed, your advert will be permanently removed from the system - but you are more than welcome to list it or other ads again as often as you want.
If when placing your advert you opted for Featured status, your advert will be live on the website for an extended period of 30 days.
I can't submit my advert
There may be a number of reasons as to why your advert may fail to submit. We'll run through a few scenarios below:
You have failed to complete all required fields
If you accidentally forget to complete a field when completing your advert, the form will alert you by highlighting that particular field in red. Please be advised that all fields within the form are mandatory, unless specified otherwise.
Your Images are too large
When choosing images to use in your advert, we have a limitation of 6MB (six megabytes) per image that can be uploaded. You should not under any circumstances exceed this limit as there is a high likelihood that your advert will fail to submit.
If the images you wish to use are indeed larger than 6MB each, we offer a free online tool to help you resize your images, and save them with a smaller file size. We recommend doing this before starting your ad.
You have submitted too many images
We have a limitation of up to six images per submission, and this is hard-coded into the upload form. Full Members have the option of adding up to 12 photographs, however due to limitations with our current upload form only 6 can be added at a time. Additional images can be added at any time from your Dashboard.
Your internet connection is too slow
Uploading images can take a long time, and the speed of this depends entirely on your current internet connection's upload speed. If you're using a 3G, Mobile Data or restricted network connection, we suggest only submitting an advert when connected to a high speed Broadband connection.
We may be suffering server downtime
In very rare situations, our server may be suffering downtime. If this is the case, no pages from our website will load at all, and an error message will appear. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this ourselves, but we will investigate the issue with our hosting providers to rectify the issue as soon as possible.
Hopefully we've been able to help you understand why your advert may fail to submit. However, if you still require assistance, please raise a support ticket and we'll help you out ASAP.
How do I edit my advert?
Only Full Members may edit their adverts.
To edit your advert you must first be signed-in to your account. Access your Dashboard and find the advert you wish to edit. You then simply click the EDIT button and a simple interface will appear allowing you to make changes to your advert.
Please note that some aspects of your advert cannot be changed, such as your advert Title, and your existing advert Photographs. We may implement this feature in the future, but for now please make sure your advert is absolutely correct when you submit it.
If you've made a major error when submitting your advert, we'll be able to change the Title or Photographs for you - but you must first contact us to initiate this process.
Can I delete my advert?
Of course! If your car has already sold, or you've changed your mind, you can login to your account and access your Dashboard to delete the advert from the website. Your advert will be deleted with immediate effect and moved to the 'Expired/Deleted' section within the Dashboard. You can re-list it later, or you can also then permanently delete the ad forever (this cannot be undone).
What is a "Watchlist"
Your Watchlist is an exciting new feature we've introduced solely for Full Members that allows you to keep track of any cars that have caught your eye!
Simply register for a Full (paid) Membership, make sure you're logged in and press the "Add to Watchlist" button next to any advert on the website. This will add your chosen advert to your personal Watchlist (which you can find right here, or in the menu at the top of any page).
You can then quickly refer back to any adverts you may want to re-visit at a later date.
Can I become an Affiliate
Beginning in 2014 we launched a very simple affiliate program for all members of JapClassifieds. All users are welcome to join, and you can read more about our affiliate guidelines here: Become an Affiliate.
How can I change my account/password details?
When signing up for an account on any of our websites, we only ask for the bare minimum of information to make the sign-up process as fast and easy as possible.
You can change any information associated with your account, including your password.
You can find a link for the page to do this in the top-panel of the website, accessed when you click the "My Account" tab. Or just click here (you must be logged in).
