1977 Datsun 280Z Rust free Californian import Original 170HP 2.8 litre fuel injected engine 5 speed manual Bare metal repaint in 2021 in original 110 red Tax, ULEZ and MOT exempt Up for sale is my 1977 Datsun 280z.This US only model uses the same exterior body shape as the 240/260z, just with a larger fuel injected engine. It was also saddled with heavy impact bumpers mandated by US law, but these have been replaced with slim chrome items.I acquired the car a year ago and after fixing it up over winter I used it almost daily during the summer months, where it never once let me down in nearly 2000 miles of happy motoring, including a 400 mile round trip to cornwall! Prior history from the US is unknown – other than a clean Californian title, and that is was a California car from new (as evidenced by California model only features). The Odometer is showing as 55,000 miles, from looking at condition of the original floors and other items this could well be accurate, but there is no way to confirm this. The car is exceptionally rust free and looks to have never seen any welding either – a rare occurrence for these cars! New air intake hose either side of the rebuilt AFM.5 speed manual conversion: Originally an automatic – meaning the engine will likely have had an easier life.
