1959 Ford Thames Dormobile camper van with Lexus 1UZFE project.   This has been my main project over the last few years. I bought it to do a resto-mod with. The van was stripped and everything was labelled and boxed away. The main body of the van has been fully restored, theres not one bit of rot left and was extensively documented. Its got a nice early 1UZ-FE V8 in it and everything else has been beefed up or strengthened to handle it. I will include a google drive link to a .pdf file of over 1000+ photos plus diary showing this. You know how it is with life though. One day you have to stop the flow to do something more important then as you get older you seem to have much more responsibilities and any free time you get is just eaten up by life. It’s been atleast 2 years since I have done anything to the van and this year I have decided to move home and regretfully, I won't be bringing the van with me to sit and linger even longer.   Body: Every part from the bottom up has been restored. I even made a rotisserie so I could get to all angles. We all know the gutters never last on these so I removed the whole roof panel to get to the metalwork that most don’t bother with and rebuild that then the gutters were made up and the roof welded back on and lead filled for a longer lasting finish. The base of the door apertures have been rebuilt, rear scuttle panel, lip between the upper panels and lower, literally every part of the main body has been built back with care and attention to each panel to look as OEM as possible.… Continue reading...
