View at the NEC Birmingham Classic Car Show in Hall 3 between 7/9th NovemberThis Datsun 240Z was first registered in November 1971 and amazingly retained by the original owner for another 48 years until 2019 when it changed hands for the first and only time since new.  As a UK dealer supplied car, it is in all probability the lowest mileage original RHD example left in the UK today with just 24,700 documented miles making it the ultimate collector's example with the most complete history and provenance available.The first owner only used it regularly for the first three or four years and then unable to bring himself to sell it, put it into his garage for use as a second car and attending occasional classic car shows. Importantly, he always kept it on the road, taxed and MOT'd each year and retained all the service records and documents in a file. Most cars with this mileage will have been laid up off the road in storage for many years but this car has remained in constant use albeit very sparingly in most years over all of that time.Aside from a re-paint a couple of years ago in the original colour of Datsun 905 Monte Carlo Red, the car is completely original and is not a restored car. All body panels comprise of original factory steel, pretty much unheard of for any UK supplied 240Z. The original L24 2.4-litre six-cylinder engine runs on twin Hitachi/SU carburettors producing 150bhp and capable of going from 0–60mph in around 8 seconds – very quick for any car in 1971.
