This Datsun 240Z was registered in November 1971 when purchased by it's first owner who then kept it all the way through to 2019 when I became just the second owner. As a UK supplied car it is possibly the lowest mileage original example left in the UK today with just 24,700 documented miles from new making it extremely desirable and ready to grace any collection.Aside from a re-paint a couple of years ago in the original colour of Datsun 905 Monte Carlo Red, the car is completely original and has never been or needed to be restored. All body panels are Japanese steel as it left the factory 55 years ago, almost unheard of for a UK supplied car. This is due to the fact it was only in regular use for the first 4 or 5 years of it's life before it was garaged and then only used occasionally for leisure/show use each year with an annual MOT always completed.The interior is in completely original condition. The seats are excellent with minimal signs of age with just a tiny scratch on the base of the driver’s seat. The dashboard is in excellent condition with no splits or cracks to the top. Behind the deep-dish wooden steering wheel, all the instruments are working correctly and in good order. The headlining and carpets are in excellent condition which continues into the boot area where the vinyl-covered strut towers are also in nice condition.The original L24 2.4-litre six-cylinder engine is present and it runs on twin Hitachi/SU carburettors producing 150bhp and capable of going from 0–60mph in around 8 seconds – no slouch for a 1971 car.
