1996 Toyota Hilux Surf SSRXJust been recommissioned after a 5yr lay up, work below has been carried out prior to the vehicle being presented for MOT.Chassis cleaned using a Needle DeScaler and 2 areas found to be a little thin so the areas have been cut out and new plate welded in, brake pipes were looking tired and caliper sticky.2x Brand New front calipersCopper Brake lines renewedBrake Cylinder and Flexis.4x Brand New Tyres Yokohama Geolanders (existing ones were persished)2x New genuine bumper corners (still boxed)Rear hatch window motor renewed.Large UK battery installed and leads turned to suit.The Engine on this vehicle is exceptional being the 3.0 TD it has stacks of power and the auto box is spot on, 4wd all works albeit the lights on dash are sometimes a bit delayed,  interior is in very good order as is the Body, paint is original everywhere but is showing its age on the roof (very common on Japanese Imports)Chassis is solid it though did have surface corrosion, any areas that we found to be thinning have been cut out and played correctly.A new tow bar has been installed as the vehicle never had one.In brief:Interior, Body and Engine is remarkable given its age.Chassis has had 2 plates welded in and existing thin steel cut back to clean good strong metal.Sunroof sticks, Aftermarket alternator fitted that has thrown the belt, battery light on (common and although batt light is on the alternator is charging and belts have been done.)Electric antenna stopped working.Double Din touch screen Head unit with sat nav/ Bluetooth etc.Vehicle can be viewed in Washington Tyne and Wear  Continue reading...
