Having had little success in selling my wife’ SLK and still needing to sell some of our cars, I thought I’d make a tentative attempt to sell my Subaru before I go on holiday in September. If it doesn’t sell then I won’t be overly disappointed as it’s been a brilliantly reliable, fast and surprisingly economical (seriously!) family wagon in the six months or so that I have owned it. So, what have we got? This is a 2003 ‘blobeye’ Subaru Impreza WRX wagon with the iconic Prodrive Performance Pack fitted from new (paperwork included). The PPP transforms the standard WRX, providing the additional power to make it a seriously capable B-road weapon, even by today’s standards. The Prodrive exhaust (standard PPP fitment) sounds glorious without being obnoxiously loud. It’s quite a rare car being a PPP-equipped WRX wagon, especially in such original, unmodified condition. With values going up it’s an undoubtedly shrewd purchase. Unfortunately, I have history of selling cars at the wrong time: Porsche 928, Mk2 Escorts, Mk2 Cortinas; you name it! Still, my loss can be your gain. It’s got a great MoT history, drives utterly brilliantly and has been completely dependable. It’s even returned well over 30mpg on long journeys up and down the country on various family trips. It comes with two keys, the original owner’s wallet and service book with 14 stamps, almost exclusively main Subaru dealer. It was last serviced at 128,767 and had a cambelt at 114,140 miles. The current mileage sits at 132,759 as I write this advert. Mechanically, it pulls like hell, doesn’t make any untoward noises from anywhere in the drivetrain, doesn’t smoke, hesitate or burn through oil or coolant.
