We have available for sale a super rare and highly desirable early US market Datsun 240Z the ID plate showing a manufacture date of 8/70. Documentation included suggests this was one of the first 10000 manufactured. There are a variety of subtle distinctions between this early car and later variants including vents in the tailgate, different rear quarter badges, vertical de-mister filaments in the rear glass, solid spoke steering wheel, no tool lockers in the boot floor etc. This car is resplendent in its original 919 Datsun/Nissan Yellow colour.The car comes complete with a large sheath of bills mostly from Idaho which is a dry state and some from Utah which has an arid climate. This indicates the car was well looked after and maintained in the US which isn’t always the case. Crucially the car is structurally very very good, having excellent chassis rails, floor pans, inner front wings, sills etc etc. Any remaining UK market survivors which haven’t been restored will tend to be decimated in these important areas and require an open cheque book rotisserie restoration.We believe this Z has been restored in the early 90s in the US prior to being imported to the UK in 2015. It is very complete with an excellent interior and the seats have been reconditioned to original specification. The car has also been upgraded to a 2.8 litre L28 engine and a 5 speed gearbox has been fitted (US market cars were all 4 speed). It is mechanically very sound and runs smoothly with a great exhaust tone. In addition some very attractive bronze 15” Minilite style alloys have been fitted.
