Mitsubishi FTO. Car of the Year Special edition 1995. One of only 207 ever made in Dandelion yellow to celebrate the award in Japan. Imported 2003, restored by me in 2021 and enjoyed as a summer daily/car show car. We won awards for condition at shows and attended FTOOC events. The car is well known in owners groups and has its own social media following. Sympathetic restoration completed in 2021 to include interior work so the seats have no rips, tears or signs of wear. No expense spared, receipts in the file come to around £6,500. The auto gearbox with tiptronic and V6 engine are smooth, would've been 200bhp new but still goes so well, and Mivec power adds even more fun. 98k on the odo but this was mostly km, I only converted to miles in the last year.Air conditioning blows cold and Bluetooth head unit added. It is 27 years old but it's Japanese so it still feels fresh.Sadly, in May this year the car was hit by another driver and his insurance company added a Cat S marker for the damage but they decided not to repair it. I've replaced the driver's door, wing and suspension strut plus wheel hub carrier, had it all straightened up and measured so it's ready to go again now. Panels are straight, lined up well. As described, this is an easy project to complete, just needs painting to match for the two donor panels and some transit/weather/storage marks. MOT expired whilst it was off the road but I'm sure would pass another easily.I just don't have space now my 17 year old son needs room for a little learner car. Looking for £5,000 + offers.  Continue reading...
