Hi and welcome, I hope you have time because this is a write up! More pics Shortly.Here we have my WRX wagon in blue with 11 months MOT NO Advisories, i've owned it coming up to a year now and spent more time working on it that driving it. I had plans of making it my weekend and track car but now i have another project. I purchased the car in march last year and it had a few problems the seller made me aware of, the engine light was on but he said them lambda sensor needed replacing and he hadn't time to do it after reassuring me it wasn't the cat, the air bag light comes and goes if your sliding the passenger seat due to a loose wire (still does) i can live with that. I trusted him at this point, he seemed genuine ex police and all that. So i set off home and took it easy for the majority of the way, i put my foot down to see what how it is and it boost cut on me, nearly throwing me through the windscreen with my belt on. I started going through the car to see what it could be and somebody couldn't keep their mitts to themselves and plumbed the vacuum lines the wrong way causing to much manifold pressure. Replaced them lambda and no joy so the cat was knackered. Then driving home a few days later the Head Gasket went. Thought it might of been the thermostat so i went to replace that and the water colour was horrendous and the thermostat was stuck closed. So 2 months after purchasing the car i was left with a lemon and got stung by a dishonest seller, The cars to good to scrap it drives like new, i was going to repair the Head… Continue reading...
