Subaru MV BRAT / 284 / BrumbyI bought the vehicle with the intention of finishing the project off, but I'm losing my storage so she has to go. 99.9% of any welding has been done, it's now a solid example, but like nearly all UK BRAT's, it's had some rot in the past. Underneath, the sills and floors have been repaired, rust inhibited and undersealed. Back of cab backwards has been repaired just needs the running gear dismantling, then undersealing / painting. There's two tailgates with it, one almost completely free of rot, the other not so much. Brake lines need re-running, fuel tank is off but has been cleaned and re-painted. Most of the interior is there but missing a couple of bits. Front end electrics all ok, dash all works as it should including lights, blowers etc, rear end lights wiring needs re-running. Engine turns over just fine, have had it started but currently quite difficult in current state. Battery is nearly new. Four chrome wheel centre caps for the steel wheels. All chrome trim is present aside from tailgate top strip and the vehicle side stripes.  Paint work is original, has scratches here and there but that's part of the 'aesthetic' isn't it? I was going to just give it a bloody good clean once done and keep original with rear tub painted out in black.With it are a set of really rare 14" Subaru alloy wheels in the 4x140mm format which obviously fits the BRAT, I had intended to restore / paint these and put some gravel spec or off-road tyres on and keep the steelies as spares. 14" wheels have a much better range of off-road tyres available than the standard 13". All in all its 98% present, needs a few weekends or evenings over winter to… Continue reading...
