Second Generation Toyota Hilux Surf. MOT until 31/07/2023I brought this on here, back in October from a seller who seemed genuine enough.I wanted a bigger car and have had a RAV4 for years which has never let me down, so I went for this Surf.In the two months I've had it, I have had a full service done, the two advisory's from the pervious MOT done (lower & upper ball joints replaced), new front brake pads, new gear box mount to stop vibration as the old one had worn down, new heat matrix as the old one was leaking coolant. The tailgate was not working so I also got that done, I had to source another tailgate and have it fitted.The tailgate now works as it should from the switch inside the car along with using the key lock on the outside of the tailgate itself.There is some surface rust/corrosion on this car which I had checked, it came back as ok with no welding needed.I discovered it was getting wet in the front passenger side footwell when it rains which the previous owner never mentioned.It seems to drip down from behind the glove box towards the left hand side however, I've not been able to find out where it is actually coming in from outside. There are some bits of slight rust/corrosion in places around the wind screen which may be letting it in.The rear window de mister doesn't work, again this was something I found out after I had brought the car.The rear (drivers side) door window doesn't go down, you can hear the motor going but the window doesn't move.I would have continued to get these issues looked at but have decided to sell the car because I find the seats uncomfortable.In the Surfs they are low… Continue reading...
