Toyota MR2 For Sale

MR2 MK3 Roadster 2ZZ Track CarThis is a very reluctant sale, but I'm getting too old to climb in and out over door bars. I need something less extreme, and I don't use it enough to justify keeping it. I’ve had the car for 6 years and used it for trackdays and Sprints. Class win in modified production class, on my last sprint. It has the new style MSA Passport for Sprints / Hillclimbs. There can’t be many MK3s in the country with such a complete track spec. It is amazing to drive on a twisty track, the handling is incredible, no understeer, no body roll, just gradual oversteer when pushed hard. The steering is tight and precise and the brakes are very powerful, they have never faded and the ABS can be turned on or off. It will go faster through corners on a track than most cars worth a lot more money. The previous owner put a lot of work into getting it to handle the way it does. He won 2 sprint championships. I’ve only had a few minor issues, MAF sensor failure, crank oil seal failure, all easily fixed. I’ve replaced the “lift pins” on the engine although the old ones looked OK. There is a noticeable lump more power when it revs from 6500 to 8600 and it has the correct Celica gearing to keep it in this rev band. The engine is standard internally. There is scope for more power with different camshafts, this is a common mod on the 2ZZ which gains about 30hp but also gives a wider power band.
