I like to think I'm quite the fan of Japanese Cars and the culture surrounding them. However, I may bring shame to my fellow enthusiasts by admitting that I haven't seen one of the most important drifting documentaries to have ever been produced.

Shot from the perspective of Phil Morrison and James Robinson from Driftworks, Outsiders covers a unique trip exploring the Japanese drift scene from the streets to the mountains to the tracks and everywhere in between.

After 10 years of being a part of the drift scene, Phil Morrison and James Robinson from Driftworks finally took a tour of Japan, accompanied by film maker Al Clark, and guided by Mitto Steele.
The goal was to see where drifting originated. To find out why it has advanced so much, and why the drivers will often risk everything to do it.

From today, the whole movie is generously available for free on YouTube. I've only just started watching it myself, and already felt compelled to produce a quick blog post.

Now if you don't mind, I have to go watch the rest...

Spare yourself 90 minutes and indulge in this beautifully shot glance into Japanese drift culture.
